Hey hey! First things first—hi, I’m so glad you landed here. Whether you’re newly engaged (cue confetti!!!) or deep in the wedding planning trenches (you got this), welcome to my little corner of the internet. I’m Sierra, a wedding photographer who fully believes that your photos should feel like you- genuine, joy-filled, and real enough to make you tear up and laugh-snort when you look back on them years from now.
So... Who Am I?
I’m the one behind the camera at The Rex Co, a documentary and classic wedding photography business built for couples who care less about Pinterest-perfect poses and more about capturing the real stuff. Like your grandma’s proud tears during the ceremony. That deep breath you take right before walking down the aisle. The way your person looks at you when they think no one’s watching. Those are the moments I live for.
And while yes, I will totally guide you through the beautiful, frame-worthy portraits you’ll want to hang on your wall (hi, moms!), my favorite part is always the in-betweens: the belly laughs, happy tears, and dance moves that definitely deserve their own documentary.
My Approach (aka What It’s Like Having Me at Your Wedding)
Imagine this: a photographer who blends in like a friend with a fancy camera, cracks awkward jokes to make you laugh naturally, fluffs your dress, fixes flyaways, and always has extra bobby pins. That’s me.
On your wedding day, I’m in your corner for everything. Need someone to wrangle the family for group photos without it turning into chaos? I got you. Want a minute to breathe and soak it all in before portraits? I’ll help carve that time out. Can’t decide if it’s time to sneak away for golden hour photos or hit the dance floor? Spoiler: we’ll do both.
How It All Started
My love for photography started in middle school. My mom had an old camera that was sitting in her closet that I begged her to let me use. I started off by taking photos of family and friends. It spiraled from there! Since then, I have learned that my passion is capturing love in all of its forms, weddings being my primary focus. I’ve been photographing weddings ever since I fell head over heels for the magic of a day where literally everyone is there to celebrate love. Honestly? It never gets old.
Outside of Weddings…
When I’m not chasing light and capturing love stories, you’ll probably find me reading a book, golfing, napping, or hanging out with my beautiful wife. I’m a sucker for sunrises, dogs, and anything involving a good cup of coffee.
A Few Things You Should Know:
I believe photos are meant to be printed, passed down, and proudly displayed—not buried in a folder on your desktop.
I think every couple deserves to feel amazing in front of the camera, even if they swear they're “awkward” (spoiler alert: you’re not).
I will cry at your vows. It's fine. I've accepted it.
